On February 11th, 2026 the House Select Committee on the CCP held a hearing focusing on the “Lies, Lawfare, and Leverage” that China applies the politics of Taiwan.  The point wasn’t that a war could start in the Taiwan Strait. It was that Beijing is applying its Three Warfares approach to cognitive warfare to make Taiwan smaller, quieter, and more constrained long before anyone fires a shot. Not by persuading the world that Taiwan’s democracy is illegitimate, but by training institutions to behave as if it is. (Select Committee on the CCP)
