Health Aide, Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP)
You will support Veterans in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program at the Bonham VA Domiciliary as a non-licensed, patient-facing teammate, maintaining a safe, structured, therapeutic environment while coordinating closely with nursing and behavioral health staff. Core duties include milieu safety with routine checks, incident response, infection control, and policy adherence; therapeutic engagement through scheduled groups and recreational activities that reinforce treatment goals; objective observation and documentation of resident status with timely communication to clinical staff; and assistance with admissions, orientation, discharge, and approved on-campus escorts. A typical shift begins with handoff and assignment review, continues with rounds, documentation, and support for groups or recreation blocks, includes help with routines such as mealtimes and community meetings, and ends with a concise handoff and completion of logs. You work under the direction of RNs, LPNs, social workers, and program leadership, communicate promptly about behavior changes, safety concerns, and incidents, and operate within SOPs since the role focuses on supportive care and observation rather than tasks that require licensure.
