Interventional Radiologist

We are seeking Board Certified Interventional Radiologists to support the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, TX. This is an onsite VA opportunity supporting veteran care in a high-acuity clinical environment with a broad interventional radiology scope, weekday coverage, and after-hours on-call responsibilities.
This requirement supports 2 full-time physicians onsite daily, and candidates must be able to meet VA credentialing, privileging, and compliance requirements before starting.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide onsite Interventional Radiology physician services for veteran patients
- Perform a broad range of image-guided and interventional radiology procedures
- Review consults, support referring physicians, and determine appropriate treatment plans
- Provide post-procedure evaluation, follow-up care, and consultation on complications
- Document care in the VA electronic health record
- Participate in required quality, peer review, and staff meeting activities
- Support on-call and call-back coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified Interventional Radiologist
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or DC
- Current BLS and ACLS
- Current DEA
- NPI
- Strong procedural and clinical proficiency in Interventional Radiology
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging
Important Requirements
- This is an onsite role in San Antonio, Texas
- Candidates must hold a full and unrestricted license
- Candidates with a license that is currently or previously restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied will not qualify
- Candidates must meet VA occupational health, training, and compliance requirements
- OIG exclusion screening will be required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospital-based or VA/DoD interventional radiology settings
- Comfortable with a wide procedural scope, including vascular access, drainage procedures, biopsies, embolization, thrombolysis/thrombectomy-related work, nephrostomy/biliary interventions, and other image-guided IR procedures reflected in the task order scope
