In recent months, “cognitive warfare” has become the catchall label for Russian information operations. It’s a neat, NATO friendly term. But it’s not what Moscow calls it, and it’s not how they think about it. The Russian General Staff has a doctrine for this — reflexive control — and it’s a different animal altogether. For the US to dominate in the information domain understanding these perspectives of adversary thought is critical
