Food Service Worker

Position Responsibilities
•Assemble patient meal trays according to tray tickets and established menus
•Portion and place items such as:
oEntrées and meats
oPotatoes and vegetables
oSalads and desserts
oBeverages and condiments
oTray ware and serving utensils
•Deliver meal trays to patient wards and dining rooms
•Break down and clean tray lines following meal service
•Perform dish room duties including:
oScraping trays
oSorting and stacking tray ware
oLoading racks into dish machines
oRemoving and organizing clean tray ware
•Clean and properly store pots and pans
•Receive and store food deliveries and supplies
•Stock walk-in refrigerators and freezers
•Maintain safe, sanitary, and organized food service work areas
•Follow established food safety, sanitation, and VA facility procedures
Required Qualifications
•Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification
•Ability to safely perform food preparation support, tray assembly, meal delivery, and dishwashing duties
•Ability to follow written menus, tray tickets, portion requirements, and supervisor instructions
•Ability to work effectively as part of a food service team
•Reliable attendance and punctuality
•Ability to work in an active healthcare food service environment
•Ability to meet VA background, access, and onboarding requirements
