Nuclear Medicine Technologist
White River Junction, VT
Strategic Resilience Group is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support onsite clinical imaging services at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont. This role will provide a full range of nuclear medicine technology services in support of patient care for U.S. Veterans.
This is a full-time contract opportunity supporting a potential 1-year base period with 4 option years. The selected candidate must be available to onboard upon award and complete all required VA credentialing, training, and access requirements before beginning patient care.
Position Responsibilities
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will support daily imaging operations and perform nuclear medicine studies in accordance with VA clinical standards, safety requirements, and provider direction.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide onsite nuclear medicine technologist services for VA patients
- Perform a broad range of nuclear medicine imaging studies and related clinical duties
- Review radiology requests in CPRS for accuracy, appropriateness, and required information
- Complete imaging studies within required timelines for stat, urgent, pre-op, and routine exams
- Prepare contrast materials under radiologist direction when required
- Record medication doses and maintain required exam documentation
- Ensure proper patient identification, image identification, and exam workflow accuracy
- Assist radiologists and physicians during procedures as part of the imaging care team
- Maintain electronic records and imaging files within VA systems
- Follow infection control, radiation safety, privacy, documentation, and equipment handling requirements
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT or NMTCB certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience with advanced nuclear medicine applications
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and privileging
- Ability to pass required background investigation and onboarding requirements
- Ability to complete VA-required training prior to the start of patient care
