The new National Security Strategy doesn’t give us a different America so much as a different way of reading the world America has already built. It is a world in which allies are expected to share more of the burden to allow the US to focus on different priorities. With this new strategy we should anticipate related changes to operations in the information environment, most notable in Secretary of War Hegseth’s announcement of the DoDs new GenAI.mil.  Although many core ideas remain across administrations key changes of geographic focus, relationships with allies, and increased application of cyber enabled capabilities are already shaping how we operate in the Information Environment.
