Strategic Resilience Group (SRG) is seeking qualified Diagnostic Radiologists to support the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Providence VA Healthcare System.
This opportunity has been updated to allow physicians to perform their scheduled duties fully remotely. Physicians may elect to work on-site in Providence, Rhode Island, but there is no on-site requirement. The Government requires the equivalent of 2.0 FTE / 4,160 annual hours of Diagnostic Radiology coverage.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide professional Diagnostic Radiology interpretations for VA patients.
- Interpret X-ray studies.
- Interpret CT and/or MRI studies in at least one of the following areas:Body
Neuro
Musculoskeletal (MSK) - Scope of services may also include:Fluoroscopy
Ultrasound
CT
MRI
Nuclear Medicine
DEXA - Review imaging requests for clinical appropriateness.
- Protocol examinations and provide guidance regarding contrast, medications, and radiation dosage.
- Coordinate imaging protocols with radiology technologists and clinical staff.
- Communicate critical, urgent, and unexpected findings according to VA procedures.
- Participate remotely in multidisciplinary conferences and clinical consultations as needed.
- Support quality assurance, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and other departmental activities.
Required Turnaround Times
- STAT: Within 1 hour
- ASAP: Within 8 hours
- Routine: Within 48 hours
Required Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Be Board Certified OR Board Eligible through the American Board of Radiology.
- If Board Eligible, have completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency and be within five years of residency completion without having failed a board examination.
- Be eligible for and successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging before beginning patient care.
- Maintain a current BLS certification through an accredited organization such as the American Heart Association.
- Maintain all required CME and professional competency requirements.
- Possess the technical proficiency necessary to perform Diagnostic Radiology services.
- Speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
ACLS certification is not required.
