Ultrasound / Sonography Technologist

Position Responsibilities
•Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations
•Prepare patients and explain procedures
•Obtain diagnostic-quality images of internal anatomy and vasculature
•Perform studies that may include:
oAbdomen
oRetroperitoneum
oSmall parts
oGynecology
oMale pelvis
oOB/GYN
oBreast sonography
oVascular imaging
•Assist with or support breast biopsy procedures where applicable
•Evaluate studies for image quality and technical accuracy
•Document results and workflow information in VA systems
•Maintain equipment and infection-control requirements
•Communicate professionally with patients, radiologists, clinical staff, and referring providers
Required Qualifications
•RDMS certification through ARDMS, appropriate to the services performed
•Relevant certifications may include abdomen, breast, and/or OB/GYN
•For vascular work, RVT certification through ARDMS is required
•Minimum 3 years of applicable advanced imaging experience
•Current BLS
•Ability to perform assigned studies independently
•Ability to complete VA credentialing and onboarding requirements

oUpper/lower extremity venous

oABI / segmental pressures
oAorta
oRenal artery
oLower extremity arterial
oStents and bypasses
