Website Media Support - Journalist – Spanish – USSOUTHCOM –SECRET Clearance required
SRG seeks an experienced Website Media Support Journalist for the Information Operations Deputy Directorate (J39). The Journalist is expected to assist with content development, interviews, photography, and editorial review of material. It is advantageous to have an on-site journalist with knowledge of web metrics and social media expertise.

Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
Maintain situational awareness of United States policy and events in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility and keep abreast of current developments in the region to coordinate and, as appropriate, produce coordinated content selection for websites.
The Journalist shall ensure all site content has been approved, monitor feature and word counts, and make recommendations to help achieve high customer satisfaction within site content budget constraints.
The Journalist shall contribute to periodic reviews and reports as requested by the COR.
The Journalist shall advise customers regarding emerging web trends and monitor the growth of internet technologies within the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility to make recommendations for technological improvements to websites.
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
3. Clearance: This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance.
4. Must have current experience utilizing social media tools.
5. The Journalist must be fluent in Spanish and have a language proficiency rating of 4 or higher, based on Department of State Foreign Affairs guidelines.
6. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
7. Minimum of three years of experience in reporting and writing news articles, features, or investigative pieces.
8. Exceptional writing skills with a passion for storytelling.
9. Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews, research topics, contribute story ideas, meet deadlines, and break down information clearly and concisely for the target audience.
10. Proven work experience with a demonstrable portfolio of work.
1. Prior experience working in the J39.
2. Prior experience providing Social Media Editing for classified content.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, SharePoint, and Teams.
